My approach

Listen

Real engagement starts with hearing what families, teachers, and students actually need - not what we assume they need. I'll spend time in classrooms, at community events, and wherever people gather to understand the challenges and celebrate the successes happening in our schools.

Collaborate

Effective school boards work with teachers as partners, not obstacles. With 20 years in education and governance experience, I understand how to facilitate productive conversations, build consensus, and find creative solutions that serve everyone.

Advocate

I'll be a strong voice for what makes Englewood special - our small but mighty district where every student is known and valued. This means backing our teachers, celebrating our students, and helping our community recognize the excellence that’s already happening here.

Deliver

Good intentions aren't enough. I prefer to focus on practical solutions, measurable outcomes, and following through on commitments. My job is ensuring our strategic plan becomes daily reality for students, their families, and school staff

About Me

I'm a 16-year Englewood resident and mother of three children who all attended Englewood schools from elementary through high school graduation. Each of my children needed something different from our schools, and Englewood delivered every time.

My journey to the school board began with contrast. When my oldest child faced challenges in a highly-rated school in a MUCH larger district, the approach felt focused on managing behaviors and focusing on “problems” rather than understanding the whole child. The moment we moved to Englewood and he started at Charles Hay, everything changed. Teachers and staff saw him as a child to understand and support, not an obstacle to overcome. That difference in approach - seeing each student as an individual with unique gifts and challenges - is what makes Englewood special.

I bring 20 years of experience in early childhood education, including roles as teacher, administrator, and board member at a cooperative preschool where families were deeply involved in school governance. I understand both classroom realities and the complexities of educational leadership. Today, I work as a process coach, helping teams collaborate effectively, navigate challenges, and find innovative solutions - skills that translate directly to productive board work.

After watching Englewood serve my family with such care and excellence, I want to give back. This small but mighty district deserves recognition for the incredible work happening here. Too often, families assume bigger districts are automatically better and leave before discovering what we offer. I'm running to support the teachers who make the magic happen, celebrate the students who thrive here, and help our entire community recognize why Englewood schools are worth choosing and fighting for.
